Who Are The Grays

Wess Gray held his first camera at the age of five and photography has been a passion for him since the ninth grade at Emerson Junior High. He opened a general purpose studio in 1975 at the age of 21. Since 1988, he has been the only photographer in Enid and Garfield County to specialize exclusively in portraiture. 1988 was also the year Jolene Gray came on board, beginning at first as the studio manager, and then evolving into an incredible digital artist.

Wess has a unique and acclaimed style of natural, unposed photography which seeks to reveal the personality of each and every subject. Over the past 3 decades, he has photographed thousands of individuals and families and currently does approximately 150 portrait sittings a year. In addition to being a student of photography (as evidenced by his becoming the first Certified Professional Photographer, CPP, in northwest Oklahoma), Wess received his Photographic Craftsman degree from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) for his teaching throughout the United States on children's and high school seniors' portraits.

Jolene has enjoyed art classes since junior high and since becoming the studio's sole digital artist, she has studied with several of the top Photoshop instructors, including Dave Cross, Julieanne Kost, Jim DiVitale, and Katrin Eismann.

Personally, the Grays have been married since 1972. Their family includes oldest daughter, Nicci, her husband, Chris and children, Gabriel and Amita; middle daughter, Glenn, her husband, Michael; and their youngest daughter, Lauren and her husband, Corey Keller.
